Put your timer
centre stage.
Who's on, time left,
who's next.
The countdown, the speaker's name and what's coming up, on every display and phone. Nothing to install: rooms, displays and phones all run in a browser. Works with Companion.
The same timer, running on the laptop at FOH. Displays, phones and Companion connect over your own network, so the show doesn't depend on the venue's internet. Screens plugged into the laptop show the timer straight away.
There are plenty of good presentation timers. This is a small, independent one, used on real events and still growing. Try it and see if it suits your shows.
What it does.
One person is in control at a time, and changes wait until you press Apply, so nothing reaches the stage by accident. If something you need is missing, say so.
Every screen is just a link
Displays, confidence monitors and operators' phones open a link in a browser, with nothing to install on each machine. The links work from anywhere with an internet connection.
Internet on every device
├ Stage display 0:40
├ Confidence mon. 0:40
├ Companion 0:40
└ Remote operator 0:40
Every screen is just a link
Displays, confidence monitors and operators' phones open a link in a browser, with nothing to install on each machine. The laptop is the server on your own show network, so it needs no internet during the show.
Internet not needed
├ Stage display 0:40
├ Confidence mon. 0:40
├ Companion 0:40
└ Show caller's phone 0:40
Works with Companion
A native Companion module with a start/pause toggle, nudges, set duration, running order Prev / Take / Next, and live time and colour on the keys. It connects over the internet, from wherever Companion runs.It connects to the laptop over your show network.
Download the Companion module (free), then in Companion: Modules → Import module package.
Whoever's best placed runs it
The switcher op backstage, the graphics op, the show caller at FOH or a dedicated operator: anyone with the control link can run the clock. Everyone else is in observer mode until they tap Take over, and every panel shows who's in control.
Run it from your phone
The live controls fit on one phone screen: timer, Start/Pause, Reset, ±1 and ±5. Changes wait as a draft until you Apply, so nothing reaches the screen by accident.
Real clocks as well as screens
A bridge sends the countdown to CDEther / Hive LED clocks, such as the one on the lectern.
Every breakout on one dashboard
Run all your rooms side by side. Each room has its own control and display links, made from long random codes, so nobody can reach your controls by guessing an address. A display link only ever shows the timer.
Talk to the stage, quietly
Send "Wrap up" or "Take questions" to the speaker, full screen or as a ticker, without touching the countdown. The display also shows who's on and who's next from your running order.
Operate from anywhere
For hybrid events and remote crews: the control link works on any internet connection, so the person running the clock doesn't have to be in the room.
Screens plugged into the laptop
Each monitor or projector connected to the laptop can show a room, full screen, chosen from the dashboard. Two extra screens can show two different rooms.
The details.
Everything the display can show, and how you run it.
- On the display
- The countdown, speaker or session name, "Up next", the time now ("Now 14:32"), the finish time ("Finish 14:55"), status and room label. Switch any of them off, down to digits only.
- Duration or End at
- Count down a length of time, or count to a clock time ("finish at 14:30").
- Count modes
- Count down and stop at 0:00, carry on counting the overrun, or count up as a stopwatch. H:MM:SS past an hour.
- Clock mode
- Switch the display to a time-of-day clock for breaks and changeovers.
- Warnings
- Green, amber, red, then purple on overrun, flashing at zero. You set the thresholds and colours per room, and can use them when counting up too.
- Messages
- Send "Wrap up" or "Take questions" to the stage, full screen or as a ticker. Clear it with one tap.
- Background
- Black, any colour, or your own image: fill the screen, fit it, or stretch it. Plain green, blue or black gives your vision mixer a clean picture to key.
- Size & fit
- Set the size and font of the digits, from standard or condensed to LED segments, with or without a glow. The timer fits to width on any screen, portrait or landscape, and goes full screen with one click.
- Running order
- Load your speakers and session lengths, or paste in your run of show as text, then step through with Prev / Take / Next.
- Quick presets
- Eight one-tap durations. To save your own, long-press one on a phone or tablet, or Ctrl+click it on a laptop.
- Keyboard
- Space to start or pause, R to reset, +/- to nudge, and arrows and Enter to work through the running order.
- If it restarts
- Rooms, running orders and settings are saved, and a running timer keeps counting. If Foxy Timer restarts mid-show, displays reconnect by themselves and show the right time.

- Open it once with internetThat starts your free 14-day trial. After that it doesn't need the internet.
- Plug in your screensEach monitor or projector on the laptop can show a room, chosen from the dashboard.
- Join phones and displaysThey scan a QR code from the dashboard, on the same network as the laptop.
About the trial
14 days with everything. After that it keeps working with one room, and a small "Foxy Timer" note on displays.
About venue Wi-Fi
Guest Wi-Fi often stops devices reaching each other. The dashboard has a quick phone check; if it fails, use your own router or a phone hotspot.
Tell me what you think.
Foxy Timer is a small project that's still growing, and it gets better from other people's shows. If you try it, I'd like to hear what breaks, what's awkward, and what you'd want it to do. Wish-list ideas are as welcome as bug reports.
